play date with Addie

My poor sister-in-law Amber is on bed rest. :(

Our nephew is due in 3 weeks and her amniotic fluid is low....

I think we're all secretly praying (or not so secretly) that he is healthy as can be & can come a little early. Not just so he can come to Carterbug's birthday party but because we know that Amber wants to get off the couch & play with Addie again.... and we are all very excited to meet him!

Anyway.... while Mama spends her time on the couch.... Addie got to come out and play with Carter & Clover today.... which is so wonderful because we LOVE to have her over.

She & Carter & Clover really enjoy throwing all the toys everywhere in the playroom! By the way.... have a look at Carter's hair. ALL OVER THE PLACE MESSY MESS. That's the way we roll sometimes. It's crazy. It actually really resembles one of those messy mop cuts that a lot of women in their 60's are sporting. You'll see in the pictures later on... just wait.
....Addie gives Clover the biggest kisses..... we know that she's going to be a wonderful big sister when our new little nephew is here.
She had her first painting experience today during our play date.... Carter showed her how it's done... and then supervised her to be sure that she was doing it correctly. Addie saw some paint on Carter's arm and decided that she needed to paint hers. I think Grandma & I had to explain to Addie, more than a few times, that paint goes on paper, not arms. :) at least in the house. I think we will have a painting party in the spring. We'll all get in our underwear & paint all over the place outside.
Okay. Just to clarify: the kids will be in their underwear. NOT the adults.

She looked so cute in her smock. I'm so thankful that we ordered Clover one... a little early... because our other smocks are for boys.
a masterpiece by Carter & Addison: feast your eyes! Carter's work is on the left.... Addie's on the right. .... and here's a close-up of Addie's art just for her mommy & daddy to see:
Thank you for coming over today Addie! We love you and we are so excited for you to be a big sister! We look so forward to welcoming your little brother into our family.... there is no doubt that he'll be just as adorable & sweet as you are....

Hi Jamie,
Your blog is darling. Great photos and wonderful writing! I read back quite a ways. So super cute. Make sure you send me a pic of your quilt when you get it done. I'd love to see it :)
