well. I guess it's been awhile.
and here's why.
you see.... we've been sick. all of us have been sick....
both babies were very sick last week. Clove= double pneumonia, bilateral ear infection, strep throat. Carter= pneumonia in the left lung, very high fevers, bilateral ear infection, possible strep.
it was quite miserable for a few days as they were tired and uncomfortable and Zach and I were starting to develop some symptoms of our own. But- as you well know.... mama's and daddies do not get sick days.
but thankfully- Zach did get to stay home a few days and we all weathered under the weather, together. and we had lost of sweet moments like this in all of the sickness:
and we were more thankful than ever before for this chalkboard in the mudroom because the babies were both on different meds at different times with different doses. it was overwhelming to say the very least trying to keep track of it all. and if you look really close- the mattress in the bedroom is gone. that's because it's in the living room floor where we all slept for nearly a week. piled on a mattress in the living room floor. and it was actually really nice, awful as it sounds. I actually sorta thought about moving the bed out there for good. But then I laughed and forgot about it.
.... and this is the only time that THIS happened:
most of the time- this little man was all "I hate breathing treatments" and it would have probably been easier to deliver a baby elephant into the world than to get him to sit still long enough to get his treatments completed.
.... and this is the only time that THIS happened:
most of the time- this little man was all "I hate breathing treatments" and it would have probably been easier to deliver a baby elephant into the world than to get him to sit still long enough to get his treatments completed. but this one afternoon.... he not only sat still.... he held the mask. and I ran to get the camera because the mother in me knew that this was a once in a lifetime event. and I was right.
and then one sunny day..... when we were all feeling better..... Clover & I posed for a picture and Zach & I took Carter on a date to go see Madagascar Live.
and both were equally as great because I am rarely on the other side of the camera and Carter loved the show. I finally went to the doctor today and got checked out. I've been ignoring myself for too long, I guess. It turns out that I have a sinus infection, an ear infection in my right ear, the start of one in the left ear, and thrush. Good thing I made that trip.... because I would have continued to get worse without antibiotics.
So now- we are all finally on the mend.
And we are looking forward to warmer weather because we need to get out of the house and play! We need more beautiful moments like these:
He looks like such a big boy because he is a big boy. Those boots are size 10. The website recommended that I order him size 6 based on his age. HAHAHAHAHAHA. I think those might have been a tad small.

I think those might have been a tad small. His summer & fall wardrobe showed up on the doorstep the other day and when I opened the box, I figured out quickly that I would need to exchange EVERY piece of clothing as the 4t's just are not big enough. Carter is ready for a size 5t. And I just cannot wrap my head around that. He turned 2 less than 6 weeks ago. My big big boy. :(
anyway.... no tears tonight. He is growing & I am thankful for that. He will have some super cute size 5t clothes and I am thankful for that.
Life is good. God is good. We are doing so well here.... just thankful to be here and to be where we are. We're blessed beyond measure and trying to soak up all the sweetness in every bit of the way. I'm glad this sick spell is coming to an end and we can all be happy, have fun again, get outside, enjoy some sunshine, and make some more memories.
Thanks for checking in.... I'm off to sew! The babies are in bed, Zach is playing poker, and I am itching to make something cute. :)

I love your clock/wall organizer/chalkboard. Where did you get this? I have to have one for our house. What a great organization tool! Thanks!
I got it at Steinmart.... but it was at least a year ago. I'm not sure that they carry them anymore but Pottery Barn has some similar organizational things. Good luck! It is wonderful if you are able to find it! ~ J.
